Gear We Love: Icelantic Skis
--
From Icelantic’s local American manufacturing and unique topsheet artwork to an industry-leading three-year warranty, let’s talk about the most bombproof ski on the market.
--
Icelantic Skis are handmade in Denver, CO with a meticulous attention to detail.
Manufacturing skis in America rather than manufacturing and shipping skis overseas means Icelantic has a smaller carbon footprint than other companies. 95% percent of skis are manufactured in Eastern Europe and China, so if you could opt for a pair made in the USA, why wouldn't you? At the Icelantic factory in Denver, skis are lovingly handmade from beginning to end. Even the finishing is done by hand.

These skis are made with premium materials that will last. And if they don’t, they’ll be replaced: no questions asked.
--
When you purchase a pair of skis, you're purchasing a piece of art.
Travis Parr, the co-founder and art director of Icelantic, hand-draws the topsheet graphics for every pair of skis and has done so since the company's inception. Parr's artwork is colorful, detailed, and meaningful; it stands out from the otherwise bland, computer-generated graphics of other brands.

So, which model do we recommend?
The Nomad 105 and Maiden 101 are award-winning and by far our most popular skis. Suitable for all skill levels, we recommend these skis to almost everyone. "These skis are beautiful. But they're more than just beautiful - they're powerful," says GEAR:30's resident buyer and product manager Chase Moffett, who is about to ski Icelantic for his fourth season. "I'd say they're like a mullet—business in the front, party in the back—but they're a party all around. These skis are out to have fun.”
With that said, we have twelve different Icelantic ski models available at our store, each tailored for a different type of ride. Come see us or give us a call to determine which pair is right for you!
